 Examination Rules & Tips
  • Write your name on the examination envelope and any examination material.

  • Double-check to make sure the number that appears on both parts of your exam matches the number beside your name on the sign in sheet.

  • The value of the examination question appears in bracket to the left.

  • Use a ruler and proper color-codes where required. Neatness is important. Complete diagrams on pages as instructed.

  • Do all your calculations on the reverse side of the answer sheet.  Where calculations are not required, the appropriate code rule, sub rule, paragraph, sub-paragraph, or clause will be accepted in lieu of a written answer.

  • Examination content is of a confidential nature and may not be reviewed by candidates either prior to writing an examination or after an examination has been written.

  • Copying or removing material from the examination room will result in disqualification.

  • Cell phones are restricted in the examination room.

  • All calculators, incorporating tapes or alphanumerical pads are restricted from use in writing examinations.  Otherwise, remove batteries and erase all preprogramming in the alphanumerical calculators.

  • Communicating with other candidates during the exam is prohibited.

  • Only one candidate at a time is permitted to leave the room (i.e. washroom) unless accompanied by invigilator.

  • Do not ask questions of the examiner once the examination commenced, other than in exceptional circumstances.

  • Candidates requesting examination marks will be told their marks if they have failed.
