The Exam will test you on the 21st Edition of the 2009 Canadian Electrical Code Part 1, as well as the following Acts & Regulations:
- Safety Codes Act - Certificate and Permit Regulation AR 295/2009
- Apprenticeship & Industry Training Act - Electrician Trade Regulation AR 274/2000
- Apprenticeship & Industry Training Act - Apprenticeship Program Regulation 258/2000
- 2012 WCB- Alberta Employer Handbook
- Employer's Guide, Occupational Health and Safety Act
The exam is 7 hours total. It contains 2 sections; each section can take up to 3.5 hours to complete. You will be allowed up to an hour break in between each section.
You can write the exam in any major city in Canada. Under special circumstances, remote locations for examination can be approved only where the Safety Codes Council can arrange proper supervision.
