The Safety Codes Council offers courses for students to meet entry qualifications for safety codes officer certification. These courses may also be of interest to architects, designers, engineers, etc.

If you are looking for the learning paths for SCO certification or to register for a course, please refer to Council Connect.

For the convenience of our adult learners, we offer courses in a variety of formats. Please refer to an individual course list on Council Connect to see specific delivery options for that course.

Some courses are available through classroom delivery, a great opportunity to interact with others in the
safety codes system.

You can view the current classroom schedule here.

Webinars are classroom sessions delivered virtually via a computer, enabling those unable to attend classroom sessions to experience the same live interaction as classroom sessions.

Self-paced (Online or Print Materials)

Many Council courses are delivered by either online learning or print course materials. Students are able to start anytime and self-pace their own learning (up to six months are allowed to complete a course). All registered students have access to a course advisor who will answer your questions on the course content.

To gain the full benefits of the interactive elements and quizzes provided by online delivery it is recommended that you work through the course materials online. However, all online courses include an option to print out your course materials.

The Council also offers workshops for existing SCOs, listed below. All workshops below qualify for SCO Continuing Education Credits.
