Vision

The Safety Codes Council's is a professional service organization that promotes safe communities through a quality, comprehensive public safety system for Albertans.

Mission

Working in partnership with municipalities, industry, labour, and Municipal Affairs, the Safety Codes Council will provide Albertans with best quality public safety systems for structures, facilities and equipment.

This mission is achieved by continually:

• striving to improve the quality of safety services in the province using innovative methods and partnerships to provide safety services;
• using sound business principles to conduct business and set priorities;
• reviewing the results of the monitoring program to ensure acceptable standards are being met;
• promoting the Safety Codes Officer as a meaningful and viable occupation;
• meeting the education and training needs of Safety Codes Officers; and
• providing competency-based training programs for Safety Codes Officers by identifying job related competencies and using a variety of delivery systems.
