Orders and Variances

Orders

Orders are issued when there is a reasonable and probable grounds to believe the Safety Codes Act is being contravened or there is danger of serious injury or damage to a person or property. Orders set what a person is required to do or stop doing to comply with the Act, ensure safety and/or protect property. Such orders may be stayed under certain circumstances. Should a person who is served an order, disagree with the order, they can ask that the matter be reviewed. Additional information about Review or Stay of Orders can be found under Publications in the Policy Manual under Appeals
