The Council is Moving
Find Us a Few Doors Down
We are excited to announce that by the end of April 2018, the Council will have moved to a new location in downtown Edmonton. The new office remains situated right on Jasper Avenue, however we will have moved a couple of blocks over to 104 Street, with the north side of the office floor overlooking Beaverhill Park.
Our new address will be:
Suite 500, 10405 Jasper Avenue,
Edmonton, Alberta T5J 3N4.
While we were happy with our current space, there were important motivating factors to make a move:
- Market. First and foremost…our lease was ending. In order to ensure we were getting the most out of our office space agreement, we went to market. With current market conditions in our favour we were able to negotiate a bigger floorplan closer to the downtown core in our contract.
- Space. When we first moved into our office on 106 Street and Jasper Avenue ten years ago with 20 employees, there was ample room to conduct business as usual. Now, with a team of over 50 employees and double the square footage, we have reached a level of growth that requires us to think ahead and anticipate for even more room. Supporting our stakeholders is at the forefront of what we do. In the new space, access to additional meeting rooms within the building will help us accommodate our over 130 volunteer sub-council members and the 40 plus meetings held a year. The ability to plan our new office layout from the ground up has given us the opportunity to exceed accessibility requirements of Section 3.8 of the Alberta Building Code, ensuring that we are living our values.
- Location. Moving two blocks east lets our team take advantage of a closer proximity to our partners in government, Alberta Municipal Affairs.
Our current location has served us well, however we couldn’t be more excited to move into our new space. Please note that our priority will be to minimize interruptions to our regular business hours during the move.
