Roles and Responsibilities

Master electricians have a legal responsibility to ensure that any work done under electrical permits in their name complies with the Safety Codes Act, the master electrician Code of Ethics, and all relevant regulations.

They are also responsible for selecting appropriate supervision methods, considering factors such as:

  • The number of permits under their name
  • Project size and type
  • Associated risk levels

To maintain their certification, master electricians must complete ongoing training on updated codes and standards, ensuring their knowledge and skills remain current.
