Explore how high-performance principles are applied in residential construction through a progressive series of courses. These courses examine the house-as-a-system approach, integrated residential design, and practical construction techniques for delivering high-performance homes. SNRG 009 is required as a pre-requisite.

Course Series: Commercial Pathway for the High-Performance Building Training Program

Build expertise in commercial building performance through courses focused on whole-building design and construction practices. These courses explore the relationships between building envelope, mechanical, electrical, lighting, controls, and other building systems that contribute to commercial building performance. SNRG 009 is required as a pre-requisite.

Course: Design Considerations for High-Performance Residential Buildings
Apply integrated design principles to balance envelope, mechanical, and electrical systems in residential projects. Learn to sequence design decisions and select assemblies appropriate to Alberta’s climate in order to meet defined performance goals. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a recognition badge through Credly.
Dates: This course is self-guided, intended to be completed in approximately 15 hours between July 7 – August 18, 2026. There will be live online class sessions on July 14, July 24, and August 14.
