Grade Stamp Not Recognized by National Building Code

The grade stamp shown below was recently observed in Quebec.

This grade stamp is from a CLSAB Accredited Agency; however, the grade stamp is not valid for structural use in Canada as:

• the National Building Code of Canada has no recognized design values for SPF-S lumber, and
• it does not contain a grading rule approved by the CLSAB such as the NLGA.
