Report from Our Sub-Councils: Q4 2020

Our sub-councils have been meeting via web conference to discuss the issues of importance to Alberta’s safety codes system.

Some highlights from the past quarter include:

• The Using Stopped Escalators as Stairs working group, a collaboration between Building and Elevator Sub-Councils, delivered their final reports to both sub-councils and recommendations around this issue have been made to Municipal Affairs.
• The Gas Sub-Council has completed their review of the Permit Regulation and a number of STANDATA.
• The Elevator Sub-Council has completed their code review and recommendations have been made to Municipal Affairs.
