Lumber Grade Stamps: What You Need to Know!
The Safety Codes Council is pleased to announce that Wood WORKS! Alberta is offering a free educational session on Grade Stamps, a great opportunity for Building SCOs and others who work in the industry.
This is a virtual presentation that will take place on Thursday, April 8 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
This presentation will cover the following:
- The structure of the North American Grading systems, with a focus on grade stamps, the branding of stamps, and the deceptive stamps that are increasingly being reported
- The function of the monitoring system in Alberta (AFPA quality control)
- The process by which lumber is graded and the appropriate uses of the different grades
- Samples of lumber will be highlighted to illustrate the different grades of lumber
